Write a Book about Your Life

by

Write a Book about Your LifeWhat is the best way to write a book about your life? Many people are eager to share their life’s adventures with others but don’t know how to start. That’s understandable; they are just to close to the story to be able to objective.

It’s fortunately that authors have options!

Write the next bestseller

Most people who write or call me want their personal story to be the next bestseller. It makes sense, as you can make a small fortune on a good story.

In order to write a bestseller you most likely need to hire a ghostwriter, unless you are a well-trained writer. However hiring a ghostwriter can be costly. If you have a budget in mind, email me and I can give you advice on how to proceed.

When you write a book about your life you must make sure your story has a strong message and purpose. No one wants to read an endless account of heavy abuse and degradation. Do you?

I’m sure you have a lot to share and teach, which can benefit others. Consider what that might be for you before you write your book.

Write a mini-ebook

If you have a small budget and wish to hire a ghostwriter to write a book about your life, I suggest you consider a mini-Book. If you keep the word count low, ghostwriters can be affordable.

A mini-book can be any size, so it is a very flexible approach.

Write for you and your family

It is admirable to record your story for future generations, so that your children may learn from your life experiences. Family histories are valuable and I encourage you to give your children and grandchildren the gift of your family history.

If you are so inclined, write the book and then hire an editor. It will save you money. However, if you don’t have the time you’ll want to hire someone to help you record the events of your life. They will need to interview you extensively and use their talents to share your story.

Whichever way you decide to write your book, it will most likely be well received by your loved ones. You might not need to hire a ghostwriter for a family legacy book if you have some experience with the written word. However, if you want your book to be marketable to the public, definitely hire a professional to help you.

Which option is best for you? Pick the strategy that will help you accomplish all your goals!

I have been thinking of writing my story alit latley. I came across this page and decided that a ghost writer would be my best bet. I have 4 kids so I don’t have much free time. The message behind my book is about more then just one thing. I want to tell how I found god. Over came addiction. Found true love. Beat cancer. Left an abusive man. Survived 4 near death experiences including a kidnapping and being held hostage. Plus so much more. I think I can help alot of young women and addicts along with their loved ones to see it’s never to late. I’d love your help.

Dear Barbara, Thank you for writing! I will write to you privately, but must tell you that now and then people come to me after they hire a very cheap ghostwriter and they are never happy. That money is wasted. Of course, you can always make payments, but you’ll need to pay a writer what they are worth. I could help you find someone in the fifty cent per word range, but that’s not cheap, I know.

    Hi Laura,

Writing this is a huge first step for me. My mother had six children, I am the youngest and the last one standing at 50,. My parents are deceased. I have experienced many things from childhood, to adulthood, and to where I am now in my life. I’m the one that took care of everyone in the family and I’m also the one that buried them. My father was an alcoholic and struggled with PTSD from serving time in the war. He died tragically in a fire. I’ve always known that I have a special gift and I am confident that I can help to change lives. I hear feedback regularly from others all the time, so I am acting on it now. I want to help so many people. I’ve had so many hard life experiences and I’ve made it to where I am today, but I had to do a lot of personal work to get to this point. Many people are just glad to see that I’m still standing today. I’ve had people come into my life during some very, very difficult times of my life who have helped to save me. I’d like to write a book, start speaking, and give back some of what I have to the world, to inspire, to change a life, to save a life. I don’t have tens of thousands of dollars upfront, but am able to work with someone financially during the time the book is being written if that can happen. Please help in anyway you can. Look forward to hearing back from you.

    Dear Laura
HI I’m Glenda, I’ve grew up as a motherless child. I’ve been through MANY obstacles… from family issues, having kids at a young age, dropping out of school, living in drug infested areas, abused, married and widowed… As a teen I use to write, but began to lose passion for it due to the life changes I’ve experienced… I now keep small notes.. I have a lot of people that know me, always saying they don’t know how I survived, and I should write a book… Well I don’t know where to start, or how to use the correct words to make it interesting enough to hold a audience attention… I have a very good story to tell, and some ways I survived, and still pushing… Like reaching out to you… Please help me… and do you, or someone you know take payments?

I have just gone through the kind of divorce that my attorney described as “one of the top 5 worst in her 25 year career.” Yet, I had the marriage everyone wished they had, just didn’t know he wasn’t who everyone thought he was. Everyone tells me I should write a book. I learned so many lessons. I’m afraid of not putting my story down for others. But don’t know where to begin.

I’m 41 years old and have spent over 20 years in prison, and a lot of my youth in detention centers. My parents were heroin addicts among other things. I also fell victim to addiction and fed my habits through bank robberies and other crimes. I’ve never stayed clean a day in my life, amazingly I have been clean and out of prison 2 years and I can honestly say i’ll never look back. Over the years attorneys, prison officials, and even judges suggest I write a book on my life. But I agreed with what you said about there needing to be a message, and now I have one. No one should ever follow the life I have led, and no matter how hopeless your life seems there is always a way out. After the things I’ve endured and i’m not only standing but I’m someone that matters in other peoples lives, instead of those people not caring if I was alive.

Hi! Thanks for writing! No, professional writers never write for a percentage of sales, although it can be part of their agreement, a kind of bonus. On the whole, ghostwriters need to be paid ahead of writing a book. It takes about a year to complete a book, just to give you an idea. Some projects are faster, but the writer will still need payment upfront. Hope that helps! As far as reviews go, there is no centralized location. Research the individual writer and find their testimonials on their site!

My goal being: sharing my life story which countless have asked me to publish. Combination of inspiration, humor, educational and entertaining. I have many people who call me – just to hear some of my stories as they either get entertained. By me (not sure if this is a compliment) or they get inspired or they just call to hear about my shorty life and they feel better after the chat.. Please let me know best way to connect. I have had a lot of people that want me to tell my story through a book because I started in the trenches and made it to be able to retire at age 50.
I am a good story teller but have a hard time writing. I think I can help other people succeed through my experiences.
