Bring Your Book to Life with a Friendly Ghostwriter
You’ve been meaning to write this book for years.
Maybe decades.
You have the stories, the wisdom, and the experience. You’ve lived your life and learned lessons the hard way.
However, you also have a business and too many responsibilities to count. Your calendar is the kind that seems to fill up automatically each week.
And somewhere in the middle of all of that, your book has been waiting.
My full ghostwriting service is designed for people exactly like you.
You don’t hate writing. In fact, you probably care deeply about words. You just don’t have the time to master the rules of literature. Nor do you have the experience to structure a compelling narrative, let alone sit at a keyboard for the hundreds of hours it would take to complete your project.
That’s where I come in.
For 23 years, I’ve helped professionals, executives, business owners, speakers, and individuals with powerful life stories turn their ideas into finished books. I’ve written over 40 books, most of them memoirs. I know what makes a reader lean forward and what makes them quietly close the cover.
When you hire me for full ghostwriting, you are not hiring someone to “type up what you say.” You are hiring a seasoned professional writer who understands story structure, pacing, character development, emotional tension, clarity, and flow. Keep in mind that a leadership book needs good stories to keep the reader enthralled.
When you hire me, you are hiring someone who will take your messy notes, scattered speeches, journal pages, articles, voice memos, and half-finished drafts and shape them into a book people don’t want to put down.
And you only need to give me about an hour or two a week.
Who This Is For
Full ghostwriting is ideal for:
- Individuals whose life stories deserve to be recorded
- Business owners who want a book to strengthen their brand
- Speakers who want a book to support their platform
- Professionals who have hard-earned wisdom to share
- Adult children who want to preserve a parent’s story before it’s too late
- People who have started writing and never finished
- People who are finally ready to complete what they began years ago
Many of my clients come to me after trying to write their book on their own. They may have folders full of notes, various drafts saved in multiple versions, or outlines that don’t quite work. They know their book isn’t right, but don’t have the experience to know what to do next.
These authors are not incapable; they are simply overwhelmed.
They don’t know where to start or how to fix what isn’t working.
I make that process clear, structured, and manageable.
And we will finish your book within a year!
Why Finishing Matters
For some, this book is about legacy.
For others, it’s about impact. They dream of helping just one person who is walking through what they have already survived.
I get a lot of requests from people who wish to capture a parent’s story before it disappears…forever.
A well-written book positions you as an authority.
- It preserves your story.
- It organizes your life’s work.
- It creates something tangible and lasting.
- And it removes the quiet weight of “I need to finish that someday.”
How the Process Works
I have a structured, proven ghostwriting process that keeps the project moving without overwhelming you.
1. Research and Interviews
We begin with conversations. Over Zoom or phone, we talk through your story, your message, your goals, and your audience.
If this is a memoir, I can help you identify the central theme. A memoir is not a diary. It is not every event that has ever happened. It is a focused narrative with a clear emotional arc.
If this is a business book, we clarify your framework, your expertise, and how to make complex ideas accessible and engaging.
And if you’re penning a novel, I can help you develop your story from the ground up. We’ll work together to develop all the characters, create conflict, maintain consistency, and everything else required for a page-turner.
2. Organization and Structure
This is where many people get stuck.
I will take your notes, outlines, speeches, and recordings and create a roadmap, which will guide us through the writing phase.
I have a strong ability to take messy material and organize it into something cohesive. Clients often tell me they felt confused before working with me. They didn’t know where to begin. Once we mapped it out together, everything became manageable.
3. Drafting
Once we have our roadmap, I will write the manuscript in stages, sending you pages as I go.
You will be involved without being overwhelmed. I only need one to two hours a week, sometimes less.
During this process, you will answer questions, clarify details, and provide feedback about what I’ve written.
I keep the momentum going.
4. Revisions and Refinement
Writing is rewriting.
We refine the manuscript together until it feels true to you. I am honest in my feedback. If something isn’t working, I will say so. But this is your book. In the end, you are the final decision maker.
My job is to advise, shape, and elevate. Your job is to guide the vision.
Most full ghostwriting projects take about a year from start to finish. Good books take time. I limit the number of full ghostwriting clients I work with because this process requires significant attention, energy, and creative focus.
What Makes My Work Different
Experience matters.
There’s an adage that you become an expert after 10,000 hours of practice. After 23 years and more than 40 books, I have long surpassed that threshold.
But experience alone isn’t what clients value most.
They often say: The difference is in the process and the partnership.
- Projects move forward steadily without feeling rushed. Patience and momentum exist at the same time.
- Complex or technical subjects are translated into language that feels clear and engaging. Specialized terminology is simplified without losing depth.
- Memoirs are shaped to read like novels. Scenes carry emotional weight. Chapters end in ways that invite the reader to keep going.
- Messy drafts, scattered notes, speeches, and outlines are carefully examined and organized into a cohesive, fascinating manuscript.
- Honest feedback is part of the collaboration. If something is not working, that is addressed directly. At the same time, the final vision always belongs to the author. It is your name on the cover, your voice on the page.
Clients frequently share that before working together, they felt stuck or uncertain about how to begin. Afterward, the process felt clear, manageable, and even enjoyable.
“When I first decided to write a book, I was unsure of everything. I had a story to tell but was unsure of how to even begin. Laura gave me direction and was able to create a flow to my book, helping me fill in what was needed and editing out what was not. I can honestly say I would have never stayed on track to finish it had it not been for her guidance and support. I felt I had full control, yet she provided ideas and suggestions. If I have the opportunity to write another book, Laura will be the first person I call!”
– Lori Suthar, Author of Joshua’s Missing Peace
“Laura Sherman is an incredible ghost writer! She worked with my vision, wading through all my notes, speeches and outlines, dissecting them to create a book with my voice and style, which bears my name. My advice to anyone seeking help with their book is to hire Laura. She is very friendly and oozes professionalism. It’s my pleasure to recommend her!”
– J.F. “The Goal Girl”
“Laura takes a dull writing project and makes it sparkle with life, interest, and readability. She tackles a writing job as if it was her own. She breathes the identity and personality of the author into it by knowing how to absorb the author’s purpose and voice. Her broad background, wit, writing skills, and high intelligence go a long way to giving the client a product that is in a stellar class.”
– L.S., Author
I take those words seriously.
Is It Okay to Hire a Ghostwriter?
Absolutely.
Ghost writing is far more common than most people realize. Many bestselling memoirs, business books, and even novels are written in collaboration with professional writers.
Hiring a ghostwriter does not mean the story is not yours.
Rather, hiring a ghost writer means you value your time and respect the craft of writing. It means you want the final product to reflect the best possible version of your ideas.
You bring the substance, your experience, valuable insight, and your unique voice.
I bring structure, storytelling, pacing, clarity, and craft to the table.
Together, we’ll make an excellent team and will create a book that you’ll be proud to see your name on the cover.
Confidentiality and Discretion
Discretion is not optional in this line of work. It is foundational.
Many of my clients are executives, business owners, public figures, or individuals sharing deeply personal experiences. Some are writing about family dynamics, financial hardship, corporate leadership, trauma, or private turning points that shaped their lives.
Your story deserves protection.
All interviews, drafts, recordings, notes, and correspondence are treated as strictly confidential. I do not discuss projects with anyone outside the collaboration unless you have given explicit permission.
In most cases, clients prefer complete privacy. That is fully respected.
My contract always includes a formal confidentiality agreement to protect your interests. Professional boundaries are clear, and your intellectual property remains yours.
This is your story. These are your ideas. And at the end of the day, it’s your name on the cover.
My role is to help you shape the story, not claim it.
You should feel confident that what you share stays within the partnership.
A Premium, Collaborative Experience
Full ghostwriting is a high-end service.
It is not rushed. It is not outsourced. It is not a quick content mill project.
It is a year-long collaboration focused on producing a manuscript you are proud to attach your name to.
You show up consistently. I guide the process, and together we move forward step by step.
And, most importantly, we finish, and you wind up with a well-written book in your hands.
