When my full ghostwriting package isn’t the right fit, this program offers a flexible approach for a few select people.

Why hire a Writing Partner?

 

A lot of first-time writers are nervous about tackling a book alone. No guide. No safety net. No experience.

 

Writing a book is like hiking through a wilderness you’ve never seen. There are no trail markers, no sense of the terrain, and no clue what might be around the next bend.

Where’s the best place to set up camp?

 

Now imagine being in a remote, unforgiving place like The Maze in Canyonlands National Park in Utah. It’s brutally hot and water is scarce, which is why overnight permits are required. You need experience to make it.

 

I think you’d agree: it makes sense to hire a guide.

 

Bring someone with experience, who has traveled that terrain many times. An ex-ranger who knows the dead ends and how to locate water when you run out.

 

That’s what I do as a ghostwriter.

 

I help my clients find their way through The Maze of their story until they emerge with a book they’re proud to put their name on.

 

Who will I accept as a Writing Partner?

 

I will admit, I’m a bit picky about who I take on as a writing partner. After all, we will become a team and in order to succeed we need a few agreements. Here are my main requirements. You must:

 

• Be passionate about your project.
• Embrace rolling up your sleeves to learn.
• Be committed to the writing process.

 

 

Notice, I don’t require any writing experience. I really just need you to be willing and eager to learn.

 

Where will we start?

 

We must always start with the outline. If you’re writing a memoir or a novel, you’ll need to learn about story structure. If you’re writing a how-to book, we’ll need to do research and organize your notes.

 

I had one coaching client who insisted on writing by the seat of his pants. Yes, I know, this is a thing. However, if you are a new writer, this rarely works. In his case, it didn’t. He had to start over and work with an outline.

 

Have you ever baked a cake from scratch? If so, you probably know it requires precise measurements. You must follow a recipe. If you simply throw ingredients randomly together, it won’t taste right. In addition, you’ll probably have rising issues, texture problems, and chemistry fails.

 

So, yes, I will insist on outlining, but don’t worry. I’ll teach you all about story structure!

 

How long will it take to write my book?

 

Together, we’ll spend twelve to eighteen months writing your full-length book (50,000 – 80,000 words).

 

It’s been my experience that if it takes much longer, the writing process will be choppy. Consistent work on your book is the solution.

 

How many hours do I need to spend?

 

There is no set time, but you won’t be able to write a book if you’re spending an hour a week writing while you watch Sunday Night Football.

 

Realistically, you’ll need to put in five to ten hours a week, throughout the week. I would suggest that you pick an hour each day that you can devote to working on your book.

 

How much does it cost to become a Writing Partner?

 

Normally, I charge $80,000 for full ghostwriting. As a writing partner, your price is half that.

 

Let’s say you wanted a writing partner for a 200-page book. Your total fee would be $25,000 and the first payment would be $6,250.
